True or False?

Some libraries let you check out things like ukuleles, cake pans, and telescopes.

Scroll to the bottom for the answer.

Colorado Just Opened the Country’s First Nature Library

Be honest, when's the last time a library made you want to go play in the mud? A new one in Colorado is betting the answer should be more often than you'd think.

The Anythink Nature Library just opened in Thornton, just north of Denver, and it's the first of its kind in the country. Alongside the usual shelves of books, which lean heavily toward the natural world, you can check out bird-watching kits, snowshoes, telescopes, and wildlife cameras, all for free. There's a mud pit for kids, a trail system out back, and a garden where visitors can get their hands dirty.

The building itself walks the talk too, powered by rooftop solar panels and built with input from local Indigenous leaders. Branch manager Maria Mayo-Peaseley put it simply: our relationships with nature have gotten really tidy, especially for kids, and this space is meant to bring back a little muddy, hands-on play.

What we love most is the intent behind it. This library has set out to prove that a great outdoor experience doesn't require a mountain trip, just a walk out your own back door.

What Is An Epilator?

If shaving feels like a chore you're stuck repeating every few days, it might be worth trying an epilator. It's a small handheld device that works kind of like a tweezer on repeat, grabbing hair and pulling it out from the root instead of just cutting it at the surface.

Because it removes hair from the root, the same way waxing does, regrowth is noticeably slower compared to shaving. Here are a few things worth knowing before you try one:

  • Some epilators are made for dry skin, others for wet skin in the shower, so be sure to select what works best for you based on your routine

  • Start on a less sensitive spot, like your arms or legs, before moving anywhere more delicate

  • Cleaning it regularly matters, since a damp epilator left in the shower can grow bacteria

Dermatologists note that repeated use over time can even cause some follicles to slow down or stop producing hair altogether. If you're tired of the razor cycle, it might be worth a try!

Tired of Unwanted Facial Hair?

Facial hair is one of those things a lot of people quietly deal with and rarely talk about. Maybe it's your upper lip, your chin, or a few stray hairs you notice more than anyone else does. And wanting to remove it is completely fine. It's your face, and feeling good when you look in the mirror matters.

The trouble is the options. Waxing means appointments and stinging. Shaving can leave irritation and stubble by the next day. Plucking one hair at a time takes forever.

That's where Pluxy comes in. It's the world's first epilator made specifically for facial hair, designed to remove hair at the root for up to 4 weeks, quickly and with less fuss than the usual routines. Because it pulls from the root, hair tends to grow back thinner and slower over time.

Why people are reaching for Pluxy:

  • Smoother skin without a salon visit

  • Less pain than waxing, less irritation than shaving

  • Hair that grows back finer the longer you use it

  • A tool sized for your face, not your legs

  • Years of use from a single purchase

  • A routine you can do at home, on your schedule

Nature Spot of the Week: Haleakalā

You know that feeling of standing somewhere so beautiful it makes you forget to check your phone? That's Haleakalā for you, and it's officially our nature spot of the week.

This dormant volcano rises over 10,000 feet above Maui, and if you catch it at sunrise, you're not looking up at the sky; you're looking down at it. The clouds spread out beneath you like a blanket. Hawaiian legend says the demigod Māui once climbed all the way up here and lassoed the sun itself, slowing it down so his mother could have a little extra daylight. Standing at the top before dawn, honestly, that story checks out.

If you make the trip, give yourself time to wander past the summit crowd. The crater floor looks almost otherworldly, like something out of a moon landing, and trails like Sliding Sands lead you right into it (just save some energy for the walk back up). Keep an eye out for the silversword plant and the néné (Hawaii's native goose), since neither shows up almost anywhere else on Earth.

One tip if Haleakalā makes it onto your list: sunrise viewing needs a reservation, so this is a spot you plan for rather than stumble into. Worth it, though. We promise! Here's a helpful guide to plan the trip.
