“There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story.”

Tiny Ducklings Take Big Leap Into Water
A group of ducklings recently paused traffic, of the human kind, on a New York City bridge. Perched high on the Westside Highway Bridge, they hesitated as their mother swam below, waiting.
One by one, the ducklings took the plunge. A few paused nervously on the edge, but cheers from the gathered crowd helped coax them into the water.
The moment was captured on video and shared by Abigail Decter, who said the scene felt joyful and unifying. “Everyone was giddy,” she said.
It was a reminder of how powerful small moments in nature can be. Especially when a whole city stops to cheer on a family of ducks.

Sunset of the Day in Colorado
Captured in Colorado, this golden-hour view from Kerry captures the sun dipping behind the mountains and casting long rays through clouds.
Thanks to Kerry for sending this in. If you’ve captured a sunset that made you stop and breathe a little deeper, we’d love to see it too!

Keep Hair Healthy With Less Waste
Summer can be tough on hair: UV rays, humidity, and chlorine all take a toll. But caring for your hair naturally isn’t just better for you, it’s better for the planet too.
Try skipping daily shampooing and ditching heat tools. It saves energy and reduces water waste. A loose braid, wide-brimmed hat, or scarf can help protect your hair and reduce sun damage, with no extra product required.
Instead of chemical-heavy conditioners, use coconut oil or a spritz of aloe and avocado oil. Rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar also cuts down on plastic packaging and harsh ingredients.
DIY sea salt spray, dry shampoo (like cornstarch), and even using a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush are small swaps that add up. Most importantly, natural routines often require fewer products, meaning less packaging and waste.
