Sweden’s Plan to Ban Forever Chemicals
Take a look under your kitchen sink, or at the coating on your nonstick pan, and there's a good chance a group of chemicals nicknamed “forever chemicals” is somewhere nearby. They're prized for being durable and resistant to water, oil, and heat, which unfortunately means they can take years to break down once they're out in the world.
These chemicals are called PFAS, and they show up in everything from cookware to cosmetics. Starting in January 2028, Sweden plans to ban them from a wide range of consumer products, putting the country ahead of most of its European neighbors on the issue.
Here's why that matters: high exposure to PFAS has been linked to a greater risk of certain cancers in people, and it can affect wildlife too. That's part of what makes this a meaningful step.
Sweden won't be alone for long, either. The European Commission is developing bloc-wide legislation that would eventually take over from Sweden's own law. In the meantime, it's a nice reminder that one country moving first can help nudge an entire region forward.

What We Actually Know About Microplastics
Microplastics have been in the headlines a lot lately, and it's easy to feel a little unsettled without knowing what's actually true. Here's the honest answer: scientists have found these tiny plastic particles nearly everywhere, including inside our own bodies. What they haven't nailed down yet is exactly what that means for our long-term health. The research is still catching up.
That uncertainty isn't all bad news. It means there's no need to panic, and it means small, easy changes can meaningfully lower your everyday exposure while researchers keep working. A few places to start:
Choose natural fibers like cotton and wool for clothing and bedding over synthetic ones
Take supplements specifically designed to control microplastic buildup in your body
Skip heating food in plastic containers, since heat speeds up how much plastic sheds
Reach for glass or stainless steel water bottles instead of reusing plastic ones
Vacuum and dust regularly, since household dust carries a surprising amount of it
None of this requires an overhaul, and there's no need to toss everything plastic you own today. Just a few small swaps here and there, made when it's easy, add up over time.

Are Microplastics Building Up in Your Body?
Microplastics can seem impossible to avoid. These tiny plastic particles come from food packaging, bottled water, air, clothing fibers, dust, and everyday household items. Even if you try to make thoughtful choices, they can still find their way in.
Researchers are learning more about how microplastics may accumulate in the body, including the brain, and how they may be connected to long-term health concerns. Some estimates suggest people may ingest up to 121,000 microplastic particles per year.
That’s where Sifts comes in. It’s a simple daily supplement designed to help your body clear microplastics. Sifts uses specialized fibers that bind to microplastics in the digestive tract, helping move them out before they can continue building up.
Why people are adding Sifts to their routine:
Helps your body clear microplastics with targeted fiber support
Made for everyday exposure from food, water, air, and packaging
Not a detox or extreme cleanse
Easy daily support for a problem that’s hard to fully avoid
Designed to help reduce buildup over time

Sunset of the Day
Reader Cindy sent us this gorgeous shot, a seashell held up right at sunset so the sun peeks through like a little golden window. It's such a clever way to frame a sunset, using something she probably found just steps away on the sand.
