These Surfboards Used To Be Windmills
What happens to a wind turbine after it retires? In Australia, it might become a surfboard. A new collaboration between energy company ACCIONA and pro surfer Josh Kerr is turning old turbine blades into high-performance boards.
The boards use recycled materials from wind farms, including parts of the blades for strength and old fiberglass for the fins. Only ten have been made so far, but theyâve already been tested in the waterâand passed with flying colors.
This project is part of a bigger plan to keep turbine parts out of landfills. ACCIONA has reused blades in things like sneaker soles and solar equipment, and theyâre building a recycling plant in Spain to expand even more.
For Kerr, itâs a way to ride waves and reduce waste at the same time. âThey held up beautifully,â he said after testing the boards. âAnd the waves were something special.â

Safe, effective pain reliefâwithout the side effects.
Chronic pain affects about 51 million Americans, with half of them under 45âleading active lives, managing demanding jobs, and raising young families. For them, pain often defines their future. Older individuals struggle with basic tasks like bathing and cooking.
Opioids, steroids, and over-the-counter painkillers come with harmful side effects from long-term use.
NĂĄpreva provides rapid, effective relief. Users sleep better and experience less stress and anxiety. Made from plant terpenes, clinical studies show NĂĄpreva may be more effective than traditional pain medicationsâwithout the side effects.
Try NĂĄpreva risk-free with their money-back guarantee and discover the healing power of plants.

Sunset of the Day in Portugal
This brilliant sky was captured by The Canopy reader Cheryl while walking through the salt flats in Tavira, Portugal.
With vivid pinks reflecting off the still water and brush-lined edges, this peaceful scene feels like a painting brought to life. Cherylâs photo reminds us to pause and take in the beauty that surrounds usâespecially when itâs this breathtaking.
Have a sunset that took your breath away? Send it our wayâwe love seeing the world through your lens!

Welcome Spring With These Sustainable Swaps
Spring is the season of fresh startsâand that includes your eco habits. As the days warm up, itâs the perfect time to reset your routine with the planet in mind. A few small swaps can go a long way toward a greener spring.
Try growing herbs in your kitchen or starting veggie seeds in reused containers like yogurt cups. Even if you only have a windowsill, adding greenery can support pollinators and reduce food packaging waste.
If youâre in cleaning mode, choose natural ingredients like vinegar and baking soda over chemical sprays. Donate what you donât need or get creative with upcyclingâan old jar can become your new pen holder.
And donât forget the outdoors! Trade a short drive for a bike ride, or pick up litter in your neighborhood with friends. Fresh air, movement, and purposeâwhat better way to welcome the season?
