An Earth Day Hike

This past Earth Day, actor and outdoorsman Nick Offerman gave fans a chance to swap screens for trail time with him as their hiking buddy. The event supported the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a nonprofit focused on protecting ecosystems, clean water, and public lands.

The sweepstakes offered one lucky winner and a friend the chance to join Offerman for a hike in Los Angeles. All it took to enter was a donation to the NRDC by May 13. Every entry helped fund the group’s ongoing climate and conservation work.

In true Offerman style, the hike came with humor and heart. The winner also received a signed copy of his book, Where the Deer and the Antelope Play, which shares his reflections on the outdoors and why protecting it matters.

If you missed the hike, there’s still time to support the cause. Donations help NRDC continue its work defending the natural spaces we all rely on, whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just stepping onto the trail.

Closet Overflowing? Try This Sustainable Reset

If your closet feels full but you still struggle to find something to wear, a purge might be in order. It doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing, and it definitely doesn’t have to be stressful.

Start by setting aside a few hours and clearing everything out, yes—everything. Seeing it all at once helps you realize what you actually wear, what’s been hiding, and what you own too many versions of (looking at you, black sweaters).

Make three piles: keep, maybe, and giveaway. Not sure what goes? Try this: if it doesn’t fit, hasn’t been worn in over a year, or doesn’t suit your current lifestyle, it’s probably time to let it go. For the “maybes,” bag them up, set a calendar reminder for two months, and see what you miss.

Good-condition items can go to donation centers. Clothes beyond repair? Many cities have textile recycling drop-offs. This isn’t about perfection, it’s about making space, shopping with intention, and loving what you keep.

Auto Insurance Costs to Reach Record Highs in 2025

How’s your insurance looking? U.S. consumers are set to face record-high auto insurance costs in 2025, according to a recent report. The average annual premium for full coverage is expected to hit $2,101, or approximately $175 per month, marking the seventh consecutive year of rate increases. To mitigate costs, drivers are encouraged to regularly shop for insurance and explore discounts.

The Everyday Habits That Save Your Wardrobe

You don’t need a perfect wardrobe or fancy tools to take better care of your clothes. In fact, a few simple tweaks can help your favorite pieces last longer. That means less shopping, less waste, and more comfort in what you already have.

If you’re someone who washes everything after one wear, you’re not alone. But cutting back where you can, like with jeans, sweaters, or jackets, helps fabrics hold their shape and color. A quick steam or air-out is often enough between washes.

Not ready to hand-sew a whole hem? That’s totally okay. But learning to sew on a button or tackle a small tear can make a big difference. YouTube is a goldmine for this stuff, and a $5 sewing kit goes a long way.

Washing on cold, skipping the dryer when possible, and using vinegar instead of softener are low-effort ways to be gentler on your clothes and the planet. And remember, it’s not about doing everything right. It’s about doing what works for you, one step at a time.

These Cannabis Gummies Keep Selling Out in 2025

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid-onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!
